Rebels in Sierra Leone who once pointed their guns westwards, towards the capital, Freetown, are now moving north and east. Since September they have been attacking across the border into Guinea, where, say the Guineans, over 700 people have been killed. Guinea has begun to retaliate, both by dropping bombs and by attacking Sierra Le-onean refugees.
