Hastily formed lobby groups are plastering the city with banners encouraging Good-luck Jonathan, the president, to run in next year's presidential election. "We have found our champion", declares one. "You can do it", urges another. Newspapers carry headlines speculating about who might back his bid. But, amid the clamour, the man himself is staying silent.
