The July 3, 2011 landing in Tokyo of the first ANA-liveried Boeing 787 Dreamliner signaled the start of an important weeklong validation of readiness for entry into service. ANA pilots, together with Boeing, flew the 787 on actual ANA routes in Japan using the airline's dispatch and flight rules. The airline's mechanics and ground crews also gained experience with the airplane in a simulated operational environment, working hand-in-hand with Boeinq mechanics and crews.
