DAC Helps Enable Clear Diagnostic Images

Analog Device's AD5791 high-accuracy 20-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) is said to be the industry's first to feature true 1 -ppm (parts per million) resolution and accuracy. The AD5791 features 1-ppm resolution and accuracy, low noise (sub 1 ppm), fast refresh rates (1 μs), and low output drift (sub 1 ppm), a relative accuracy specification of ± 1 LSB max, and operation is guaranteed monotonic with a ±1 LSB DNL max specification. The output can be configured for standard unipolar (+5 V, +10 V) or bipolar (±5 V, +10 V) output ranges. The AD5791 uses a three-wire serial interface that operates at clock rates up to 50 MHz.
