Gas prices in the US have started coming down as buyers feelrnthe peak winter is already near its end. The temperature recordedrnduring the second half of January was also above normal. As arnresult, the benchmark Henry Hub gas prices averaged $3.27 perrnMMBtu during January, a fall of 9% over December. Although gasrnprices should come down further as the temperature rises, we stillrnrule out any steep fall in prices for the next six weeks. Consideringrnthe past pattern, gas consumption in the US may stay healthyrnuntil the first half of March, supporting gas prices. Drewryrntherefore expects the Henry Hub price to stay around $3.00 perrnMMBtu in the near term.rnMeanwhile, LNG prices in Asia have also come under pressurernbecause of increasing supply in the region.
