Drewry expects LPG shipping rates to improve slightly in September due to robust demand in Asia. Storm-related delays to US LPG exports and Panama Canal congestion may further tighten vessel supply, taking the rates higher. VLGC spot rates remained resilient in August as plenty of fixtures were concluded in both the east and west, buoyed by cargo demand from India. Meanwhile, low supplies from the Middle East made buyers turn to alternative load regions of Australia and West Africa, which continued to support the rates.
