Innovation in the dredging sector is going from strength to strength as can be evidenced by the record number of entries for the third annual Dredging and Port Construction Awards that will be held on 20 November at De Koepelkerk, in the heart of Amsterdam. The final shortlist, which was announced in early September, features a total of 42 entries from 29 individual companies that will be put before the global judging panel, which includes representatives from CEDA and The International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH). "I'm thrilled with the response that we have seen from the sector and I'm particularly happy with the number of SMEs that have been shortlisted," said DPC acting editor Namrata Nadkarni. "I think it is important to have a variety of players in the room and I am glad that we invested in special resources to target smaller companies that may not have been able to enter these awards without our help. We will also be marking 50 years of the magazine on the same night and I know that it will be a fantastic opportunity for us as an industry to celebrate our achievements and make valuable networking connections."
