ABB unveils MXP turbocharger

Finland-based ABB Turbocharging, in cooperation with IHI Corporation, has built the MXP turbocharger, its first to be dedicated for marine auxiliary engine applications. "MXP maintains the reliable, robust quality of ABB turbochargers, while delivering the required auxiliary engine operation performance for vessels such as dredgers, bulkers, tankers, and mid-sized container ships," ABB Turbocharging head Oliver Riemenschneider told IHS DPC. "This new turbocharger enables IMO Ⅱ compliance of the engine without the need for any additional measures.
