Lying in the hills of Cadiz, Spain, Medina-Sidonia is a monumental historic town whose houses are known for their whitewashed walls and ceramic roofs. Observed from a distance, Medina seems like a unique ceramic composition moulded by the topography. The project involved converting a 19th-century slaughterhouse into a professional catering school. Carrying out this intervention in such a historic town centre thus suggested an approach of adaptation and settling into the surrounding context.
