Framing the landscape

A complex interlocking of pure and stereometric volumes: compact to the north, with solid, closed service volumes and open to the south, with open, glazed volumes that are almost transparent. The C house in Manduria, in the province of Taranto, is a single-family dwelling designed by architect Luca Zanaroli that sits on land previously occupied by a building from the 1970s, demolished and replaced by a sustainable design in which great attention has been given to the permeability of the envelope. The materials specified give the design a strong identity, making use of traditional choices such as lava stone and lime render.
