No more dishes, or cutlery, or even cooking tools. Man's hands must go back to being the absolute protagonists in the act of cooking. This is the mission Giulia Soldati, an Italian based in Amsterdam, has set for her work as a designer: surpassing the barriers between our body and the world surrounding us; rediscovering the primary relationship with the food we consume. In order to do this, Giulia Soldati plans participatory dinners (hands-only eating and a rediscovery of the social value of conviviality), but she also redesigns a food etiquette where human hands play a pivotal part, studying and designing gestures for bringing food to mouths and perceiving temperatures, textures and consistencies in a new way.
