摘要

It was the 1990s when Guido and Ste-fano Cribiori began dreaming about opening an art gallery, which they wouldlaternameStudiolo. Sculptures and artworks, displayed regularly to collectors, considering each taste and nuance and intertwining two different periods: "Old masters" and Italian 20th-century figurative arts. "Two factors stimulate the purchase of a work of art," explains Guido Cribiori. "The first is the instinctive and immediate curiosity that makes its way inside the collector, through a traditional figurative language that renders the work appealing." An endless sea of women, portrayed well dressed or semi-nude, resting on chaise longues, lovely, lofty and with naughty looks on their faces. "Unfortunately, this artistic period, though full of great masters who wrote the history of Italian 20th-century art, has been left aside, and their value on the market has declined. Did you know you can buy works by greats like Mario Sironi, Anselmo Bucci or Cesare Monti for less than 10,000 euro? Forget about the figures of a market that too often focuses on another story, that is, contemporary art, with its jacked-up prices or speculative purchases. Collecting - real collecting - is something else." This led to their passion to spread and present the development of a form of collecting that has almost been forgotten, as they organise both in-house shows on artists from the first part of the 20th century as well as public group exhibitions, aimed at a historic-critical reassessment of greats from the 1900s. "In order to be a good collector, it's important to be open, curious and unite different styles and genres within a collection. Perceiving the artist's life through the materials, the canvas. This creates emotions."
