Secrets of the golden egg

Designed by German practice Ar-chitekten Oikios, the new building for the historic Hotel Inter Continental in Davos sums up the current transformation of the Swiss town from a winter tourist resort to an all-year-round holiday destination. The "neofuturist" language of the building and its facade made up of 790 steel elements painted gold have earned it the nickname of the "Golden egg". Its public spaces, such as the spa and wellness areas, are ultra-refined, enhanced by stone finishes applied with the help of technologically-advanced solutions from Mapei.
