A sharp increase in interest in energy storage will open new opportunities for thermal energy storage (TES), and the market for TES will see steady growth over the next several years, according to a new report from Pike Research. Installed TES capacity in the U.S., which stood at 2.7 GW in 2011, will rise to a total of 7.2 GW by 2020.
