I read the Prognosis column "Let There Be Dark" by Dan Hurley in the December 2016 issue (about the health effects of artificial light at night) on the night of the most recent supermoon, just before going to bed. We live in the country; we don't have any curtains because the closest house is three-quarters of a mile away. So I lay in bed looking out at the bright moon shining right on my face. Even when there is no supermoon, the full moon often wakes me up in the night. And we have commented on how bright the stars make it on a night with a new moon.
