摘要

Long-standig hyperglycemia has been indicated as the most important cause of diabetic microvascu- lar complications (nephropathy and retinopathy) (1), and strict glycemic control was shown to pre- vent the development and progression of diabetic microan- giopathy (2). On the other hand, certain genetic factors have been proposed to be responsible for the development and pro- gression of diabetic microangiopathy, especially nephropathy (3-5). This hypothesis is supported by the observation of familial clustering of diabetic nephropathyin Caucasians (6) or in Pima Indians (7).
