摘要

Sponsorship provides an alternate approach to improving gender diversity at top positions. However, to bring about desired results, a well-structured program is essential. A robust recruitment process of sponsors and proteges is important, and a thoughtful matching of sponsors and proteges is apparently critical. Sponsorship along with mentoring can be effective in promoting diversity in top positions. It can complement existing mentoring programs to bring a measurable difference in women's careers. Organizations can thus leverage the power of sponsorship to create a diverse leadership team with more women in senior leadership roles.
