Scaling new heights with thermal hydrolysis

Cambi's technology strategy is shaped by the drivers behind clients' decisions to invest in our solutions. The utilities' main driver is to reduce their sludge treatment and handling costs. To assist in this, the thermal hydrolysis process (THP) converts more organics to biogas and can also improve dewatering. The large reduction of biosolids achieved with THP has turned out to be beneficial for a diverse range of applications. The process allows for higher digester loading, hence smaller and cheaper digesters with a smaller footprint. This flexibility and the ability to provide safe and cost-efficient handling routes have been a success factor.
