A Survey on the Satisfaction of Standardized Residency Training in Chongqing

Objective : To investigate the satisfaction and improvement demand of standardizedresidency training, and thus provide a basis for its strategy development andefficiency promotion. Methods: During 2017-2018, a survey was performedusing a self-designed questionnaire and cluster sampling, involving 1050standardized residency trainees from some tertiary comprehensive hospitals inChongqing. The differential effects of various factors on the improvementdemand were analyzed with χ~(2) test. Results: Totally 980 (93.3%) eligible questionnaires werecollected. As shown by the analysis in four aspects of residency trainingmanagement, security and satisfaction, as well as post-training employmentplan, the majority of trainees (87.14%) felt satisfactory about the training;the trainees at different educational levels gave high satisfaction toresidency training management and clinical skills training, but significantlydifferential satisfaction to non-clinical skills training, clinical workpressure and salary (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The standardized residency trainees in Chongqinghave high overall satisfaction, and present an obvious demand for the improvementof standardized residency training. And the education level of trainees is oneof the main influential factors.
