The outbreak of a novel coronavirus pneumonia, known as COVID-19, started in Wuhan, China,and spread rapidly and widely around the globe. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impacton the well-being of people and countries around the world, with major implications for publichealth, society, safety and the economy (1, 2). As a result, hotels, viewed as a declining industry,have suffered a staggering drop in average occupancy rates (3). The hospitality industry is “alreadyfacing collapse” and is “fighting for survival,” as a result of the pandemic.
