1.Almost as soon as it had issued new shares worth around 17% of its enlarged share capital to pay for a pair of acquisitions, Malaysia's Ranhill began buying back shares on the open market in order to shore up the price of its stock, which has fallen by nearly a quarter this year. The new acquisitions will boost its water and wastewa-ter engineering capabilities, while taking it deeper into transportation, civil infrastructure, and renewable energy. 2.Chinese membrane systems supplier Newater Technology was delisted from Nasdaq earlier this month after local government-controlled Yancoal International took a 45% stake in the company. Newater generated $51.2 million in revenues last year.
