The Effect of Sunscreens on Yeast to Prevent Ultraviolet Damage

摘要

The impacts of Ultraviolet (UV) radiation on thehuman body have received increased attention in previous years. The impacts arecomprised of a series of illnesses, burns, and modifications in the geneticstructures. Therefore, the current study aimed to identify the effect ofsunscreens on yeast to prevent ultraviolet damage. The study uses twosunscreens with different sun protection factors to show how they differentlyprotect the cells from the wrath of UV light. The experiment involves the useof yeast as the test organism since yeast has DNA that is used for reproductionby budding. UV light affects the growth of the bacteria and the limiting factorwith the sunscreens. Six Petri dishes with agar were inoculated with yeastsolution and put under different conditions and the growth results will beobtained. The experiment also showed how different clothes protect human fromthe UV radiations.
