摘要

Introduction: Chronic kidney disease (CKD), caused by various causes, leads to the end-stage of renal diseases (ESRD). Dialysis and kidney transplant are the only treatments existed in the market for ESRD. Many studies and clinical trials are being conducted to develop new treatments for kidney disease. However, there is no newly developed renal replacement therapies yet. In this study, we developed a new treatment that can delay the progression of ESRD, using autologous omentum tissue. Omentum is one layer of the peritoneum, and it rec- ognizes injuries and infection. Moreover, omentum consists of various cell types such as mesothelial cells, milky spot (immune cells), and extracellular matrix, and these are necessary components in organ regeneration process.
