In conclusion, deficient serum 25(OH)D was a risk factorfor the incidence of BADL disability in both sexes. Therefore,maintaining sufficient concentrations of this vitamin couldhelp prevent the development of disability in individuals aged50 y and older. Further longitudinal studies are needed to verifydeficient serum 25(OH)D as a risk factor for the incidence ofdisability regarding instrumental activities of daily living.
