This paper investigates the problem of observer-based fault detection for discrete-time network-based switching systems with redundant channels. The redundant channel is considered to overcome the fragility of networks configured by a single channel in the communication networks. The considered switching law is of mode-dependent persistent dwell time characteristic, which is more general than the widely-used average dwell time and dwell time switching properties. The desired fault detection filters are designed, and the globally asymptotic stability of the augmented system is analyzed using the quasi-time-dependent Lyapunov function approach. The explicit solution of the fault detection filters is obtained by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities. A practical application on the boost converter is illustrated to show the effectiveness of the theoretical findings.
