Gest?o de processos em pequenas empresas: resultados de uma pesquisa-a??o em uma fábrica de óculos de madeira no Rio de Janeiro

Small businesses are very relevant on the national scene because of its quantity representa-tion and the role they play socially and economically. However, traditionally, these companies face prob-lems that make their management complex and challenging. Thus, as a way of contributing to better management practices in small businesses, this study aimed to identify and present the impacts of business process management in these enterprises. Therefore, this is a qualitative action research done in a small enterprise, analyzing specific production process. The research tried to understand how to manage processes in small businesses, which have specific characteristics, and if this practice can bring benefits to these businesses. The results suggest a general improvement on the performance of the production process and an influence of some specific characteristics, mainly lack of financial, human and time resources.
