A case of acute pure erythroid leukemia in a 20 month old male child presenting with left sided proptosis

Stroke is a rare presentation of AML. Leukemia should be suspected in any child with features of CNS manifestations with elevated total counts which may not be in the values corresponding to definition of hyperleucocytosis. Peripheral smear analysis should be done immediately to look for any features of malignancy and aggressive management with cytoreductive measures should be initiated.
