In this paper, we consider the problem of the propagation of three-dimensional ultrashort optical pulses in a photonic crystal made of zig-zag carbonnanotubes under the condition of nonlinear absorption and amplification. The nonlinearabsorption is described phenomenologically using data from real experiments. Thepossibility of stable optical pulse propagation under the conditions of external pumpand damping field is shown. We analyze the dependence of the pulse shape on variousparameters of the medium, such as the period of carbon nanotubes inhomogeneity in aphotonic crystal and the modulation depth of the refractive index.
