We report a 47-year-old circumcised man who presentedto our department for annular lesions of the penis andthe left thigh since one year. The lesions were slightlypruritic. The patient was a fairly healthy-looking manwith no medical history. He had never had syphilis, was married and had 2 healthy children. Cutaneousexamination revealed annular brown plaques withcentral hypopigmentation of the penile shaft (Fig. 1) inaddition to purple annular scaly plaques on the left thigh(Fig. 2). The lesions were superficial but had a definiteand firm consistence. They appeared first as small, flatpapules which increased peripherally and involuted inthe centre and so produced a ringed lesion. The lesionswere slightly pruritic and no lesions occurred on themucous membranes. Skin biopsy was performed onthe edge of the plaque. Histopathological examinationrevealed a band-like infiltrate of T-cells at the epidermaldermaljunction. The epidermis was mildly acanthoticwith compact hyperkeratosis and hypergranulosis. Thebasal layer showed vacuolar changes (Fig. 3).
