Anisakis in oral cavity: A rare case of an emerging disease

Most of the cases of Anisakiasis have a higher incidence in areas where raw, marinated or pickled fish is commonly consumed, i.e. Japan, Korea, Latin America and Europe - in particular Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Spain, France, Britain and Italy. In these countries the number of reported human cases has steadily increased in the last years.
