Towards the implementation of the HHP conceptin the Americas

Regional Conferences on the Facilitation ofInternational Competition Horse Movement have beeninstrumental in the development of the High-Health,High?Performance Horse (HHP) concept. Theseconferences, organised by the OIE in collaborationwith the Fédération équestre Internationale (FEI) andthe International Federation of Horseracing Authorities(IFHA), have gathered together representatives of theequine industry and from the public sector on variouscontinents to discuss constraints on the internationalmovement of competition horses and to form the basisof the HHP concept. The first regional conference for theAmericas was organised in Panama, in December 2012.In February 2014, a regional conference for Asia, theFar East and Oceania was held in Hong Kong SAR, and aregional conference for the Middle East and North Africawas hosted by Dubai (the United Arab Emirates) inSeptember 2014 [1] [2].
