SAT-204 COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE EPIDEMIOLOGY OF ESRD IN PATIENTS UNDERGOING?HEMODIALYSIS IN SOUTH BANGALORE

Introduction: Every year millions die prematurely of complicationsrelated to Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). Diabetes Mellitus andHypertension are the most common causes of CKD in most parts of theworld.AsperrecentIndianCouncilofMedicalResearchdata,prevalenceofdiabetesintheIndianadultpopulationhasrisento7.3%.Likewisethereportedprevalenceofhypertensionintheadultpopulationtodayis17%(14.8% in rural areas and 21.4% in the urban belt). With rising preva-lence of these diseases in India, prevalence of CKD is expected to rise &thus this is the key target population to address. In this study, we showthe increasing prevalence of Diabetes in our dialysis population.
