摘要

In this article of EBioMedicine, Ke Zhao and colleagues [1]show that it is possible to quantify the tumour-stroma percentageby artificial intelligence, using a convolutional neural network onwhole-slide images (WSI). Moreover, the prognostic effect of thetumour-stroma ratio (TSR) for overall survival was confirmed,showing the robustness of the TSR method. It was suggested thatthis algorithm could possibly accelerate the clinical implementation of the TSR. To better understand the value of this contribution, it is important to know the background of the pathologyworkflow and the TSR.
