Pyogenic epidural spinal abscess, though a rare disease, is a medico-surgical emergency as it can be potentially life threatening. Moreover, it has a propensity to promptly progress and cause devastating complications, including neurologic paraplegia. Here, we present a case of a young adolescent girl who presented with sudden onset weakness of both lower limbs, associated with bladder and bowel incontinence. She underwent spinal cord decompression surgery and evacuation of the epidural abscess, with a favorable outcome. This case report highlights the importance of an early diagnosis and treatment in order to avoid an adverse evolution.
