Limbus is formed by thejunction ofthecornealand conjunctivalepithelia, wheretheepitheliumgradually becomes thicker toward thesclera.[1] Itisa 1–2-mm-wideanatomicalring-shaped transition zone between the opaquescleraand theclearcornea.[2] Anatomically, thelimbuscontainsimportant features related to eyefunctions including fibrovascular ridges radially oriented known as palisades ofVogt that hostcornealstemcellsforepithelialturnover.[1] Scanning electronmicroscopy (SEM) isatechniquefor obtaining high-resolution images of biologicaland nonbiologicalspecimens.
