Now-a-days formulations based on naturalproducts getting attention because of their low orabsence of toxicity, complete biodegradability,availability from natural sources and their low-costcompared to those of compounds obtained by totalchemical synthesis (Abbott, 1995). In developingcountries like Bangladesh, the study for biologicalactivities from locally available plants have beenraised significantly to reduce public health costs.From this perspective, a locally available medicinalplant of Bangladesh, was selected for this study toexplore its pharmacological potential.
