Factors affecting pedestrian’s choice of travelling by metro

After examining studies on TODs and its relationship with travelbehavior in different contexts, the following major literaturegaps have been identified.1) Different cities have faced different problems becausetheir unique context and characteristics, urban planners orgovernment should pay more attention to the different contextwhen implementing TOD.2) Chinese cities differ from most of the western cities in termsof density, land use diversity, and urban design, most of theTOD projects implemented in Chinese cities are just in theirbeginning stages, to search for suitable methods based on TODenvironment that can work in Chinese cities is significant.3) It is necessary to develop different approaches to evaluatefuture TOD projects in Chinese cities.4) Studies regarding TOD and its impact on local residents’travel behaviors in TOD in Hefei should be further explored.5) It is necessary to further explore and understand the keyreasons for what qualities are they seeking within the TOD tofacilitate the shift in travel modes from driving to sustainabletravel options.
