A causal fractional-order filter to approximate the performance of rateindependent linear damping Part 2: Impulsive response of structure systems with the proposed model

In the present material, a fractional-order generalizedmodel is proposed as an alternative mathematical modelto describe the rate-independent energy dissipation behavior.Comparison studies show that both the Makris' model and the model used in reference can be included asspecial cases of the proposed model. Furthermore, thecausality of the proposed model is conformed and impulsiveresponse of an SDOF system with the proposed modelis investigated.
