What are you going to do about diversity in 2020?

To launch the new decade, I attended a "Women of Water Summit" in early January. It was a new event hosted by the consultancy group Mazars, in partnership with DC Water. To be honest, I was a reluctant participant. We have so many conferences in the industry already - so much talk and not enough action. I'm also ambivalent about the business benefits of women-only enclaves, no matter how socially supportive they are. Mostly, I'm indignant that we are still having this conversation. I'd had the naive hope early in my career that mine would be the generation that would achieve parity in business leadership. Right.
