The modern advances in wireless network leads to the emergence of a new type of network called Vehicular Ad Hoc Network. VANETs furnish us with the infrastructure to develop new systems to intensify the drivers and the passengers comfort and safety. VANETs are self-organizing distributed networks formed between the moving vehicles stocked with the wireless communication devices. This paper uses Continuous Time Markov Networks (CTMN) to analytically measure the performance of IEEE 802.11p, providing a clear and easy to follow description. For the model given in the paper, the stationary distribution will be obtained and the throughput will be computed achieved by each vehicle in the network. The simulation result validates the model demonstrated in the paper.
