Abstract: Cognitive radio and cooperative communications emerged as networking technologies that solve the radio spectrum scarcity and the fading effects in wireless communications while improving the reliability, the performance and the adaptability of the network. In this work, we are aiming to achieve cooperative diversity via the use of an energy harvesting underlay cognitive radio network operating in decode and forward (DF) relay selection. The selection targets to satisfy the interference threshold and residual battery power conditions by the use of Green relays that permits to enable or disable a relay depending on a comparison between its residual .energy level and the set threshold.
