Implementation of road charging in the city of ?ilina – a tool for reducing negative externalities

It has been proven on several implementations worldwide, that introducing of road charging scheme in urban area is very simple and efficient way to reduce traffic volumes, lower congestions and shorten travel time. Herewith, there is a possibility of utilization of charged money, e.g. for financing of public transportation. In our paper, based on analysis of traffic intensities and results of social survey, we describe a proposal of charging schema for the central part of the city of ?ilina in Slovakia.
