We studied the formation of multilayered coatingincorporating a β-cyclodextrin polyelectrolyte onto a pretreatedpolyethylene terephthalate (PET) textile in order toobtain reservoir and sustained release properties towardsbioactive molecules. This paper describes the alternatedeposition by dip-coating onto the textile of chitosan(CHT) and a β-cyclodextrin polyelectrolyte (polyCTR-βCD) according to the layer-by-layer (LbL) principle.Textiles covered with up to 12 layers were characterizedby gravimetry, infrared, zetametry. The building of themultilayer system was then achieved including methyleneblue (MB) as bioactive model compound, complexedwith polyCTR-βCD, and a release study of BM wasinvestigated in batch. The results showed that the releaseprofile of BM could be controlled by the number of layersin the system.
