HIV-seronegative Cameroonians with exposure tononhuman primates were tested for simian immunodefi-ciency virus (SIV) infection. Seroreactivity was correlatedwith exposure risk (p<0.001). One person had stronghumoral and weak cellular immune reactivity to SIVcol pep-tides. Humans are exposed to and possibly infected withSIV, which has major public health implications
