MRSA Variant in Companion Animals

Methicillin-resistant Staphylocoocus aureus (MRSA) harboring mecALGA251has been isolated from humans and ruminants. Database screening identifi ed this MRSA variant in cats, dogs, and a guinea pig in Germany during 2008–2011.
