Mild encephalitis/encephalopathy with a reversible splenial lesion caused by Legionnaires' disease presenting with cerebellar ataxia symptoms and impaired consciousness

Background: Mild encephalitis/encephalopathy with a reversible splenial lesion (MERS) occurs due to infection or drugs. When patients with Legionnaire’ disease present with articulation disorder and/or impaired consciousness, MERS should be considered as a differential diagnosis.
