Population growth, rising standard of living, urbanization, diversification of consumption materials cause increasing of waste materials and energy consumption. In the world, thousands of wastes occur every day, and most of these wastes come from solid wastes such as household, industry, agriculture, municipal wastes, etc. This increase in solid wastes is one of the most important environmental problems in the world. Conversion of these wastes into energy during the disposal process is significant importance in terms of prevention of environmental pollution, public health, and renewable, sustainable energy. Landfilling which is the simplest waste treatment method currently appears as the less preferable method for following reasons: first, the lack of land available, especially in the most populated regions. Second, landfilling causes the production of powerful hazardous gases and chemicals that can contaminate the soil and water, posing a risk to the public health and the environment.
