Emerging trends from advanced planning to integrated business planning

For more than 20 years, the conceptualization of SC planning processes has been paralleled by the development of related planning systems. Traditional approaches focused on volume-based planning that matches demand and supply quantities, but more recently, value-based aspects and financial criteria have gained importance for SC planning. This study analyzes recent trends towards integrated business planning and studies the emergence of related system solutions. Related scientific literature is briefly summarized before market-leading software vendors and system providers are assessed based on publicly accessible information.
