In this letter, the problem of modeling transient magnetic field emissions of an equipment under test (EUT) is studied. The proposed method employs stochastic techniques in order to identify a pulse model, which can be employed to recreate the EUT's magnetic behavior during the transient event. Moreover, the estimation of the signal's spectral bounds is a fundamental characteristic of the transient event and is also analyzed in this letter. The measured field can be effectively processed and denoised and the pulse model's parameters, as well as the spectral bounds model, may be assessed based on its spectrum values. The fitted models ultimately aim at estimating the magnetic transient signature of the EUT at remote extrapolation points of interest, typically for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) applications. For the evaluation of this approach, the magnetic field time series generated by real spacecraft equipment is captured during unit transient behavior, i.e., switch on and off. Eventually, the resulting models verify the ability of the proposed methodology to accurately reproduce the transient behavior of an EUT.
