Abstract We propose a generic testbed for evaluating social trust models and we show how existing models can fit our tesbed. To showcase the flexibility of our design, we implemented a prototype and evaluated three trust algorithms, namely EigenTrust, PeerTrust and Appleseed, for their vulnerabilites to attacks and compliance to various trust properties. For example, we were able to exhibit discrepancies between EigenTrust and PeerTrust, as well as trade-offs between resistance to slandering attacks versus self-promotion.
